Sage School Great Coin Race 2014

Spring 2014
Sage School Great Coin Race 2014
For the 4th year in a row, Sage School (K-8) students hosted a Great Coin Race. The students were split into two teams and competed in collecting spare change. This year, the students raised $900.80 for a project in Costa Rica focused on creating a school garden and mural. The garden allowed the students to contribute to beautifying the community, as well as taught a valuable lesson about nutrition. The mural not only provided a fun painting activity for the students and taught them the importance of art and self-expression, but has also helped bring color to the school grounds. Thanks to the continued hard work of Sage School students, the elementary school students at the school of Nandayure are now involved in an engaging after-school gardening program, and have a beautiful space to congregate.
