Sarah Henry, MPH - Executive Director

Sarah served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic in a school for children with special needs. It was during her service that Sarah discovered her passion for working in HIV/AIDS prevention with adolescents and for public health in general. Upon completion of Peace Corps, Sarah obtained her MPH from Columbia University. As World Connect's first employee, Sarah joined Infante Sano in 2006 as the Country Director in the Dominican Republic. As Country Director she helped build and grow the field office, hired key staff, initiated partnerships, established work in our pilot hospital, and opened two rural maternal and newborn health clinics. Sarah returned to the US in 2008 to lead World Connect's Development team and now serves as the Executive Director of the organization. She lives in Washington with her husband and son.

Christopher Daniel - Chief Operating Officer

Chris Daniel is World Connect's Chief Operating Officer. Chris comes to World Connect from the Rhode Island Department of Health where he oversaw the RI Responds Medical Volunteer Program and coordinated the state's Strategic National Stockpile Program. Additional to his work in domestic preparedness and public health emergency planning, he brings 10 years of management experience from the international humanitarian sector to World Connect. He began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon and subsequently served in multiple leadership roles for Catholic Relief Services, an international non-profit. He has worked throughout Africa, South Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean often responding to natural and manmade disasters in countries such as Belize, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Honduras, Liberia, Pakistan, Sierra Leone and Sudan (Darfur). Chris lives in Rhode Island with his wife and two daughters.

Jacquelyn Caglia, MPH - Program Director

Originally from Pennsylvania with roots in community organizing and service learning, Jacque holds a Masters in Public Health from Boston University. She has held various positions focused on local and international health including several years researching how race, ethnicity, language and culture affect health. Jacque has worked with various community agencies to evaluate their health interventions and communicate about their work. Jacque has extensive experience in training development and grant writing. She served with the Peace Corps as a community health specialist in the Dominican Republic and maintains her connections to service as the Vice-President of the Boston Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. She lives in Cambridge, MA.

Patrick Higdon - Kids to Kids Program Coordinator

Patrick Higdon is the Program Coordinator of World Connect's Kids to Kids Program. Patrick brings years of commitment to youth development to the Infante Sano team. Originally from Nashville, Tennesee, he has volunteered and worked in numerous schools and child-centered non-profit organizations across the country and the world. After traveling and working in El Salvador and Brazil, Patrick received his Masters in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from New York University in 2007. He currently lives in Brighton, MA.

Jill Beamon - Volunteer

Jill, originally from Boston, received a BS in Biochemistry from Beloit College in 2009. While at Beloit, she was involved with Habitat for Humanity and Girls and Women in Science, a program that aims to empower 6th grade girls through science. She studied abroad in Spain and Chile where she interned in a molecular analysis lab and shadowed doctors in public and private hospitals. Now, she works at Massachusetts General Hospital as a research technician studying HIV and volunteers with World Connect.

Caitlin Abber - Program Intern

Originally from Malden, MA, Caitlin is a student at Brandeis University. She is currently studying health and sociology, with an interest in peace and coexistence studies. She hopes to pursue a masters degree in social work and public health after graduation. She is interested in studying different models of health education and the overlap with tolerance education for ethnic and religious minorities abroad in the Netherlands during her Spring 2011 semester. Caitlin is excited to join the World Connect volunteer team this summer.

Catherine Jussel - Communications Intern

Catherine Jussel recently received her B.S. from Boston University’s College of Communication. There she became a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America. Catherine also became involved with Amnesty International, and the Environmental Awareness Club, while learning social media, marketing, and persuasion tactics. In the past she has worked for companies trying to encourage eco-friendly and sustainable purchasing.
