Wayland High K2K Club Wins Youth Service Day Award!
The Wayland High School Kids to Kids club recently applied for the Youth Service Day Award grant and won! The club, led by Youth Advisory Board vice-president Emily, decided to use its $500 grant to do a project to support the current medical needs in Haiti in addition to raising funds for Kids to Kids. They are partnering with an organization called Afaya/Partners in Health to collect the supplies they are looking for to aid them with their medical care. This includes orthopedic supplies, blankets, tents, and unopened medical supplies. In addition to collecting these supplies, the Wayland High Kids to Kids Club will be having a movie night. The proceeds of this fundraiser will also go to Kids to Kids and Partners in Health.
Youth Service Day Awards are granted every year in coordination with Global Youth Service Day. Global Youth Service Day is April 23rd-25th. These few days celebrate and mobilize millions of youth who make a difference in their world everyday of the year.
