Debo-Massassi Mural Project
Year: 2011
Country: Mali
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $325.08
Project Launch:
Debo-Massassi is a small, remote village in Mali, West Africa with a population of 1,400 and no running water or electricity. Debo-Massassi built its first school in 2008 for grades one through three, about 200 students. Ninety five percent of the villagers are illiterate. Lacking textbooks, most students learn exclusively through memorization. With support from World Connect's Kids to Kids Program, the school painted murals all along the newly constructed school that teach basic lessons. Not only do children benefit but adult passersby do as well.Explore other Projects
