Girl Power! Camp

Year: 2011
Country: Philippines
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $499.79

Project Launch:

Many young women in Northern Samar lack knowledge about women's rights and reproductive health. There are high rates of teen pregnancy and domestic violence is fairly common. This project will implement a multi-day camp with various activities designed to empower young girls, providing them with opportunities to discuss certain issues, learn new skills, and interact with other youth.

Project Update

The camp was a huge success! The girls formed many new friendships and learned a lot about reproductive and maternal health. Over the course of three days, the girls became more comfortable around each other and weren't afraid to ask questions during the workshops.
