Girls Leading Through Softball
Year: 2010
Country: El Salvador
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $500.00
Project Launch:
Softball can provide a healthy outlet for fun for girls who choose to participate and this project worked with older girls (seventh to ninth grade) in El Salvador to run formal practices, drills, and games and prepare a camp for younger girls (kindergarten to sixth grade). At the camp the older girls ran different sessions for the younger girls, giving the younger girls more softball and teamwork skills and giving the older girls leadership experience. The “Girls Leading Through Softball” project was supported with $500 from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program. Not only did young participants learn a new sport but all participants made new friends and learned new healthy activities that they brought back to their home communities.Explore other Projects
