GS Kizibere School is located in Ruhango District in Rwanda's Southern Province two hours outside of Kigali. The school has a robust system of programming for both education and health but lacks a library. This project will be the first steps toward completing the GS Kizibere community through the construction of a new school library which will offer students and educators the tools they require to succeed.

Final Report: 11-2-18

More than 500 students can now participate in library clubs built into their school schedule. More than 50 teachers have the opportunity to conduct research and participate in teacher training in the library space. Leadership and health clubs have a place to meet and discuss future school improvements at the student level. During lunch hours, secondary students have the chance to request permission to browse the library and enjoy reading for the sake of learning, even if it isn't for some sort of project or assignment. The library and learning center has modeled student-based teaching and the power of a clean and decorated classroom, even giving teachers ideas for teaching aides to implement in the classroom. The existence of this center affects over 2000 students at both secondary and primary levels as they begin to obtain access to these resources.
