Healthy Homes and Families: Chichucancha
Project Launch:
The Healthy Homes and Families project, led by the Chichucancha Health Post, will impact 24 families, giving mothers the knowledge and skills to be leaders, decision makers and health promoters in their own homes. The project will offer family health and nutrition workshops, technical instruction in creating family gardens and small animal corrals, and the installation of improved cook stoves in each home. In the past year, each of these families has suffered from high rates of respiratory illness, diarrheal disease and chronic malnutrition in children. The Chichucancha Health Post will be closely monitoring the health of each member of the 24 families to ensure the project is making a difference in their health and their lives.
