Sheep farming
Project Launch: 5-3-19
The rural village of Nyakarambi lacks a nursery, primary school, health center, and electricity. Nyakarambi's Woman Is Able, a community-based organization established in 2016, seeks to combat the community’s poverty by financially empowering women. Their project involves a women-owned sheep farm which will encourage the economic development of the community. Using modern sheep farming practices, the women will raise and sell sheep to generate income. They will also produce fertilizer using the sheeps' manure as an additional product to sell. Increased income among female sheep farmers will improve families' standard of living and support the entire Nyakarambi community.
