World Connect's second annual dinner last Thursday evening was an extraordinary night. Our 300 guests helped us raise more than $100,000 that night to support the launch of new World Connect projects. We are so grateful to all who attended and supported the evening, which was filled with moving stories, lots of fun, and some great surprises (not least when Richard Gere took the mic at our auction and helped us raise thousands more dollars). Check out our photo gallery
to get inspired to join us next year, and if you were with us, relive the beautiful evening.
The centerpiece of the dinner's program was a project that began with a $400 investment from World Connect to teach young Moroccans about journalism, and evolved into a youth-led media company that is now expanding to four cities across Southern Morocco. The project's young leaders traveled from Morocco to Brooklyn to attest to the ways the project has changed their lives. If you missed it, we hope you'll watch our video
about their project.
We will be launching 50+ new projects in the coming weeks thanks to your support. The 100+ projects we launch each year are locally-led initiatives that promote health, protect the environment, and advance education and economic opportunity, prioritizing the needs of women and children. Our projects are often eye-opening experiences for project participants, empowering for first time leaders, and a gateway to future opportunity.
Thank you for your support. I hope you will join us next year!
My very best,
