Community Health Clinic Borehole
Project Launch: 10-27-20
This community plans to implement an electrically-powered borehole at their community health clinic. At present, women collect water from the river 3km away, or a borehole 500m away when it is not dried up. The existing clinic management committee will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and responsible use of the borehole. The borehole will be powered with an existing electricity source that the community brought to the clinic. Hospital and pharmacy fees will cover the additional electricity and maintenance costs that the borehole will incur. This project will provide 1,500 people with access to potable water, improving health indicators in the community.
