Improving Hygienic Environment to Prevent Hospital Acquired Infection

Deborah Eturu and the Berekem community will use $5,069.83 to construct 4 new modern toilet facilities and renovate 2 other toilets that serve outpatient departments at Clean Hands Clinic located in Brenyekwa – Nyamebekyere community, Berekum Municipal in Bono Region of Ghana. The project will also renovate the children’s, female, and male wards in the clinic. Through the project, the clinic sanitation will improve leading to reduced transmission of infectious diseases. Over 120 patients are expected to benefit in using the new sanitary facilities each day.

Deborah Eturu and the Berekem community have used $5,069.83 to construct four (4 ) new modern toilet facilities and renovate two (2) other toilets that serve outpatient departments at Clean Hands Clinic located in Brenyekwa – Nyamebekyere community, Berekum Municipal in Bono Region of Ghana. 95% of the project has been completed with six toilets being used and only remaining with painting to be fully finished. Additionally, the male, female and children’s ward have been tiled and a Septic Tank for the toilet facility has also been completed. The clinic has already seen 10 increase in attendance rate based on improved hygiene
