Open Books, Open Doors: A library in Las Brisas
Project Launch:
Not wanting their kids to have to walk an hour to and from the nearest school, a group of parents in Las Brisas, Costa Rica built its own school and enrolled more than 300 kids in 2010. Support from World Connect is needed to equip the school, Escuela Las Brisas, with books and needed infrastructure improvements for the library. The community has already contributed to this project by purchasing and collecting new and used books valued at more than $3,000.
